The VP of Design and Development for DirecTEX recently returned from a knitwear research trip to Europe. Some of our favorite markets to research include London, Paris and Copenhagen.  Two of the newest categories identified by our designers are SWEATER SETS and SWEATER DRESSES.

We are seeing sweater tops matched with a knit skirt for a little more  of a dressy look.

Casual Sweater Sets

We also saw a lot of cozy sweaters with knit pants or joggers for more of a casual athletic look — very inline with the trendy “athleisure” look.

Sweater Dresses are making an impact with both fine gauge and soft and spongy mid-gauge yarn.  Sweater dresses work well in both professional and social settings.
